Dr Maurizio Nava is Majored in Oncology, General Surgery and Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Honorary Chairman at the G.RE.TA, Group of Reconstructive and Therapeutic Advancements, Milan Italy. He achieved his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1977. He went on to specialize in oncology in 1980 and general surgery in 1986. In 1993, he then specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Since graduating, he has worked at the National Institute for the Study and Treatment of Cancer in Milan, where he held the position of Director of the Plastic Unit from 1997 till 2014. As Adjunct Professor – School of Specialization in Plastic Surgery, University of Milan and Genova, he participates in national and international studies on implants, ADMs, fat cells and microsurgical flaps in oncoplastic breast surgery. He is Honorary President of the G.RE.TA, a Foundation, which works on updates to the international multidisciplinary field of oncoplastic, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, support clinical researches and studies and operates a forum for exchange of ideas with patients. He is author and co-author of more than 200 publications in Italian, English and Spanish on oncological , reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery, 5 books as author and several chapters in other books. He has organized several international conferences on both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the breast. He and his team are dedicated to oncoplastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the breast.
